We are welcoming Candida Meyrick to The Imaginarium to talk about her new (and first non-fiction) book, Be More Bird.
Described as 'Part memoir, part beginner’s guide, part self-help, but wholly wonderful book', Be More Bird is the true story of Bird - AKA Sophia Houdini Whitewing and Candida building a relationship. Bird is a Harris hawk, a feathered killing machine who hunts the rich Dorset fields on the edge of the New Forest. Following the trials of what life brings, Candida finds solace and inspiration in training Bird, learning life lessons along the way.
Set in the wild landscapes of both on the edge of the New Forest and Anglesey, this book is sure to be of interest to nature lovers, and locals to the New Forest.
Candida will be at The Imaginarium to talk about Bird, her experiences in training her and the resulting book. An enthusiasitc and passionate public speaker, this is sure to be an event that will leave people feeling inspired.
About the Author:
Candida is an author of six novels, and one non-fiction book. She is also an artist, a falconer and an entrepreneur. Living between Anglesey and the New Forest, she takes inspiration for her surroundings for her writing and art.
