Review: Starside - Alex Aster
If you’ve heard Alex Aster’s name before, it’s probably because of her TikTok phenomenon, multi-million selling YA fantasy Lightlark series, but now Alex is branching out into Adult fantasy, adding more mature themes and content with her new release, Starside.
I’ve just finished it and here are my thoughts…
I initially decided I was taking this home because the book itself is STUNNING with gorgeous, foiled hardcover under the dust jacket and a great map at the end papers (we love a map!) A totally justifiable action for a self-confessed book dragon (collecting and reading = TOTALLY different hobbies). Having heard mixed reviews about Aster’s writing, I had no idea if this was going to be enjoyable or maybe even a DNF….
I LOVED IT!!

· A cliffhanger at the end of every chapter
· Determined FMC
· Morally Grey MMC

· Epic and ever-changing magical terrains

I’m a reader who loves to disappear into a book and I am ALL about the vibe – if it keeps me turning the pages, not wanting to put it down and desperate to find out what happens next, then as far as I’m concerned, it deserves more stars! That’s what Starside was for me, so do I recommend? Absolutely.
