Jayde’s review: My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney

Hi all, I’m not a bookseller anymore but I am here to still give you amazing recommendations!

If you’re a thriller lover and you haven’t picked up an Alice Feeney book then you need to, Alice Feeney is solidly my number one thriller author and her upcoming book “My Husband’s Wife” has only cemented that in stone.

My Husband’s Wife follows multiple characters throughout the story, starting out with Eden Fox, the wife of Harrison Fox who have moved to the small town of Hope Falls to start a new life, finding herself  shunted from their home when a mysterious woman shows up and takes over her life. It only gets more complex from there.

Our second POV (and my favourite) is Birdy, a recluse from London who’s facing a life changing diagnosis, receives an unexpected gift from a long lost relative in Hope Falls. I immediately loved Birdy’s character because her attitude and the things she came out with genuinely made me laugh.  I’ve included two non-spoiler quotes that I just had to share.

“Sometimes you order ice cream and instead life serves a triple-decker trash sandwich with a side order of completely fudged.”

“I feel this is the capital of bumblefudge, and you’re the town mayor.”  - certain words have been replaced so as to be completely reader friendly.

Feeney sets up the atmosphere from the very first page, creating an eerie and unsettling experience that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through and even giving me chills at certain points.

As usual every theory I had throughout this book was completely null and void and I ended up having a lot of mind-blowing moments with each reveal up to the very end of the book.
